Oh, Arthur Fortune!

You know that Simpsons episode where Monty Burns is jealous because everyone likes rival billionaire Arthur Fortune so much better? And whenever Arthur Fortune is mentioned, Homer clasps his hands and sighs wistfully?

Well, my high school's version of Arthur Fortune was Richard Mason. 5 years after he graduated, our teachers would still mention him with a proud gleam in their eyes. He was legend. He was the smartest of all the kids in the smart kids school. And today one of my former TAGgers found his website, where he chronicles his work building robotic cars and fish and answering questions like "If I get in a helicopter and go straight up and just hover there for 12 hours will I come down on the other side of the world?"

And he works for a think tank now. So, basically, he's getting paid to be smart. Awesome. Something about that means that all is right with the world.
